Watch Michael Kourosh talk about how Santa Barbara Has been inhabited for over 15,000 years. In 1786 Mission Santa Barbara was established and a town started to grow around it. Santa Barbara was liberated by general John C Fremont then later gave Ulysses S. Grant a promotion making him the 18th president of the United States. Also see how a 6.8 earthquake on June 29, 1925 Destroyed most of Santa Barbara leveling most of the town. One of the many architects that helped reconstruct Santa Barbara was George Washington Smith. Designer Mary Lou Sorrell showed us one of Smiths Cottages in Montecito.
