Laura has a B.S. in Dental Hygiene and is currently working towards an A.A. in Interior Design at Santa Barbara City College. While living in the bay area, she held an internship at Sullivan Design Studio where she was able to learn more about all aspects of the design process as well as the business side of owning an interior design studio. Eventually, she would like to own her own residential and commercial design studio. Her experience in the field of dentistry has also sparked an interest in dental office design.
“For as long as I can remember, I’ve been pouring over design books and magazines and collecting tear sheets for future projects. I’m inspired by the memories that bring the biggest smiles to my face, memories of travel – especially when I remember the people and the markets I’ve met along the way- flea markets of Paris, silk markets in Vietnam, the leather markets of Florence, Italy and the artisan markets in Tanzania, Africa. I love textiles and objects that possess handmade detail and character. Objects like these impart their humanity and have a soul about them and I aim to create spaces which evoke that same essence.
