Originally for San Jose, Ca, Carolyn received her Bachelor’s degree in English from UCSB in 2005 and will receive her Certificate in Interior Design from SBCC in December 2016. She became interested in pursuing Interior Design as a career after designing and renovating several areas of her 1930’s home that had been stripped of charm and needed some serious updating and TLC. Over the years it’s been quite a few different styles and shades, from a funky blue to canary yellow. Since owning it she and her husband have striven to give it a sense of oneness while trying to maintain its unique personality, capturing that quintessential mishmash of styles, vegetation, and design that is so Santa Barbara. At first it was a hobby. Now it is a passion.
The Interior Design program at SBCC has been great and Carolyn has enjoyed developing her skills in space planning, architectural drafting and rendering while sharpening and expanding her design aesthetic.
