Edgar Cruz
My name is Edgar Cruz, I am originally from Michoacán, Mexico. I moved to the US at the age of 13, now living in Oxnard California. I graduated with an A.S. Degree from Oxnard College, my first major was psychology. I took some time off and realized psychology wasn’t my passion. I chose to do something in the design field and chose interior design. That is the reason why i started attending SBCC because they offer a degree and certification for interior design.
My love for art, fashion, and different cultures are my inspiration for interior design. I love the details that art has to offer and the story it tells once its finished. Inspiration is all over the place from the minimalist to the extravagant.
Interior design changed my life because it has brought me many opportunities. One I like to mention is the chance to participate and design a space for Santa Barbara Design Center. Also, thanks to interior design, I graduated to a new interest which is architecture. I now plan to get my bachelors in architecture as well as a certificate in interior design.
My personal interior design style is eclectic. I like to take risks and incorporate different styles that normally don’t go together. I like to play with different shapes, colors, fabrics, materials, and textures.
