You always want to start of with a rug and make your way up to furniture and accessories. Susan chose a rug that has a beautiful palette of colors with a warm gray to complement the temporary colors around the room. At Rugs and More they carry thousands of rugs available for purchase, Ranging from antique to contemporary.
The Maia Shagreen Cocktail Table added was custom made to be a large 5ft square to compliment the large space. Faux shagreen imitates the texture and feel of traditional hides. The roughness of shagreen led to the French use of “Shagrin” as an embarrassment.
At Santa Barbara Design Center we custom make furniture, working with designers, home specification and tastes.
The sofas created had a vary contemporary base, and the leg stands are custom made to match the dining table legs. The chairs used in the living room are hand made with a Herringbone fabric. Herringbone gets its pattern by the way the pattern resembles a fish skeleton. Its origin can be traced to 500 B.C in ancient Rome.
Susan then includes accessories to the room to add a pop of color and the bring everything together. While incorporating blue in her design for the pillows and other elements.
Santa Barbara Design Center has a wide variety of pillows and textiles. Custom fabrics can also be designed and manufactured.
The Gisela Vase brings together all the colors in the living room and the style throughout the home.This unique vase brings a beautiful see grass color that matches perfectly with the blues around the home, its like bringing outdoors inside is part of the earth.
For more addiction touches Susan included three Frosted Amber Glass Vase accessories to the coffee table to bring more color to the room. Blown glass that has been shaped and cut by hand which comes in many different Designs and colors.
