We hope that will enjoy this episode with Courtney Maitrejean and Michael, as they explore a great home in Santa Barbara while they collaborate on their creative decorating decisions. It is a pleasure working with Courtney because she has a fabulous decorating eye, which is very evident in this episode, and she has a very clean perspective on her project that as you can see from the photos of some of her interiors below.
This was a re-model of a Mediterranean-style home. The existing interiors were outdated with country inspired elements, and the kitchen had a very poor layout. Her clients purchased the home, and wanted to tailor it to their taste which is sophisticated and classic… but interesting. Courtney added a corner window, with dramatic polished black nickel plumbing fixtures (Waterstone from Ferguson), paneled appliances wherever possible (Sub-Zero/Wolf from Ferguson), and a large center island with thick, leathered black granite top (Tile and Stone done by Solid Rock of Santa Barbara). The fireplace was completely refaced with Venitian plaster and we used the same line of deco tiles on the fireplace and custom-designed, plaster range hood (Tiles by NS Ceramic) Michael at Santa Barbara Design Center built the sofa and ottoman for the living room and the light fixtures are by IronCad and Steven Handelman (both local)
